Even with its base model, the engine in a Mini Cooper packs quite a punch out on the highway. Here's a look at each of the engine options on the 2010 Mini Cooper.

1.6 liter four cylinder engine:
This engine is offered on Mini Cooper's base model. Although it's a base model engine, it has an 118 horsepower output. It can reach a top speed of 126 mph, can go from 0-60 in 8.5 seconds, and has 114 pound feet of torque.

1.6 liter turbocharged direct injected four cylinder engine:
Offered on Mini Cooper's Cooper S model, this engine posses a 172 horsepower output. This engine replaces the 2009 supercharged engine model and can reach a top speed of 139 mph.

High Output Turbocharged 1.6 liter four cylinder engine:
Available only on the John Cooper Works Mini Cooper edition, this 208 horsepower engine is the strongest engines in its class. This engine can reach a top speed of 147 mph and can go from 0-60 in 6.2 seconds.

Each Mini Cooper model holds a 13.2 gallon gas tank and has a 37mpg highway and 28 mpg city gas mileage rate. Each model is equipped with 6-speed manual transmission. Automatic transmission is available for the base Mini Cooper model and the Cooper S models for an additional fee. Automatic transmission is not available with the John Cooper Works Mini Edition. No matter what Mini Cooper model you choose, the 2010 Mini Cooper engine options all have a lot of zest and zip for such a small vehicle.
